Walking Naturally

  • Gala Policies

Meet at the Focus Centre, Livingstone Place, Galashiels, TD1 1DQ

  • Annette Murray and Marc Bremner

  • 10:30am - 12:30pm

Going for a walk can do amazing things for your mental wellbeing. It can improve self-esteem, boost our mood and help us sleep better.

Evidence suggests walking also lowers stress and anxiety and helps combat fatigue. Spending time in nature has been proven to have similar positive effects on our health and happiness.

We invite you to discover the benefits of simply walking and spending time in nature.

Join us for an Autumnal stroll around the Gala Policies and feel the benefits of “walking naturally” for yourself.  The walk will include a few stops and simple activities to help deepen your appreciation of the natural surroundings and explore how developing a connection with nature can help positive wellbeing.

The activity will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, then we invite you to join us back at the Wellbeing College hub for a cuppa, cake and a chat.

Please wear appropriate footwear and clothes suitable for the weather. The paths around the Gala Policies consist of uneven surfaces with gentle slopes and some short, steeper sections and steps. Please contact us if you would like more information about access.

Please be aware we may have to cancel the walk in light of bad weather.
